Here is a MIJ Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal distortion. It works perfectly—it was on my board recently before I put the HM-2w on in its place—and it sounds like how they ought to sound. This does the chainsaw Swedish thing as iconically as you’d imagine, but there are a lot of other settings in it as well, especially for a good classic shoegaze distortion.

I’ve made sure to photograph the few dings that there are, but in general this effect is very well-preserved, especially for an original MIJ black label version.
